A citizen of Brazil, Dr. Schor is a tenured Associate Professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) in the Department of Geography, where she has worked extensively on market structures of natural resources and urbanization in the Amazon. She has supervised a significant number of graduate students and has produced a wide range of publications on the region. Her previous roles include Executive Secretary of the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (SECTI) of the State of Amazonas, Coordinator of the State Center for Conservation Units of Amazonas, and Deputy Secretary of State for Rural Production Planning. Dr. Schor holds a PhD in Environmental Science, a Master’s in Human Geography, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo.
