María Andi, a Kichwa leader from Napo, Ecuador, is a passionate educator deeply committed to the well-being of her community. With a strong background in Educational Planning, a diploma in innovative pedagogy, and a master’s degree in Educational Management and Leadership, she brings 25 years of experience in the public sector and 13 years in the private sector, promoting intercultural education.
She has also served as president of the Kichwa Community Suyu Kawsay Hoy and, as the Academic Coordinator of the Escuela Viva de la Amazonía, she is at the forefront of training indigenous leaders. She empowers young people from the Ecuador–Peru border region to face territorial, social, and environmental challenges in their communities.
Her leadership has been vital in defending the rights of Indigenous peoples and nationalities, as well as in promoting sustainable development through projects that engage young Indigenous leaders, both women and men.
