Technical Coordinator of the Indigenous Economy Program at AIDESEP, from the Awajún Indigenous People of Peru. He currently leads the implementation of strategies that strengthen Indigenous communities through the support of their traditional productive initiatives, access to national and international markets, and the development of alternatives to create new forms of economy based on respect for the natural environment, the appreciation of traditional knowledge, ancestral wisdom and practices, and the promotion of the sustainable use of Amazonian biodiversity. Mr. Nugkuag holds a degree in business administration and economics, with a master’s degree in Amazonian studies and a master’s in public administration and policy from the National University of San Marcos (Peru) and the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).
