Brenda Izidio, born and raised in São Luís, is a biologist with a master’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation. Currently a consultant in Biodiversity and Bioeconomy for IDB Invest. She has worked in municipal public administration and for more than 14 years has dedicated herself to the third sector as a youth leader. She is co-founder of the Brazilian Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN Brazil) and has been accompanying the Biodiversity COPs since 2018. She is a full member of the National Biodiversity Commission (CONABIO). She recently co-created and chairs the Brazilian Biodiversity and Climate Network, a platform that is identifying synergies between the biodiversity and climate agendas with a focus on the territorialization of these issues in Brazil’s different biomes.
