Ângela Mendes is social-environmental activist with an emphasis on defense of human rights and environment and participate of various networks linked to these themes. She is environmental management technologist and currently is president of Chico Mendes committee. Ângela is an Ashoka social entrepreneur, advisor of the Xapuri socio-environmental magazine, Chico Mendes Memorial and WWF-Brasil and also is associated of Institute of Amazonian Studies. Angela created the youth nucleus of Chico Mendes committee in 2016, inspired by the letter to the youngs of the future that her father left before his murder. Since then, Chico Mendes committee still supporting the young vocês that came from the forest and the female protagonismo in extractive territories.
