Mr. Percy Summers is Senior Director of Science and Development at Conservation International (CI) – Peru. He has a Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech and a MSc in Tropical Forestry from the University of Amazonas in Manaus, Brazil. He joined CI in 2009, first as CI’s Ecosystem Services Coordinator, then Director of the Sustainable Landscapes Partnership in Peru and was Professor of Practice at ASU Center for Biodiversity Outcomes. He now leads an interdisciplinary team of professionals that support the implementation of projects with a holistic and integrated approach for innovate sustainable development models at scale. These include the sustainable landscapes strategy for the Alto Mayo landscape, the Amazon Business Alliance platform and CI-Peru’s nascent Oceans program. His interest is centered in the interphase of social and ecological systems including sustainable landscapes, bioeconomy, community-based natural resource management, agroforestry systems, nature-based solutions and climate change.
