Melina Risso is the Director of Research at the Igarapé Institute. She leads research on environmental crime, territorial risks, money laundering, and regional cooperation. She holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Government and Public Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), and is the co-author of the book Public Security to Turn the Game Around. Melina is also a member of the National Council for Public Security and Social Defense of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP/Brazil).
